Choosing the right buck!
This depends on multiple factors:
- Do you own a buck? Is there a buck in the area that a breeder with allow to service your doe? (They should ask you to have your doe tested to see she is disease free) Do you have someone you know that is willing to AI your goat?
- Consider your doe's genetics and do your research what buck would improve your doe's type and productivity?
- What do all those adga letters mean?
- Do you want a specific color? Really?
Syncing your standing heat and birthing dates:
How do you ask Cidr's or more?
I live cover my does currently but I use Cidr's to sync heat cyles and thus birthing dates. My personal protcol is 21 days pull and put in with the buck.
There are other protocols that do and do not require additional hormones such as PG600 and Lutelase.
